Now is the beginning of vacation season – that time of the year you’ve been waiting for since Christmas. What could possibly go wrong?
“People tend to travel during time off, which means all kinds of foreign germs in close quarters, such as airliners, cruise ships, hotel rooms, rental cars and the like. It’s important to start strengthening your immune system now,” says Geoff Melcher of East Park Research (www.eastparkresearch.com). “And, if you have kids who are traveling or going to summer camp, you’re doubly exposed.”
Melcher says concern for immunity during travel should be exponential if vacation includes overseas stops. In some parts of the world, it’s not a matter of if one gets sick, but when, he says.
“There are easy ways to boost your immune system so you aren’t susceptible to illness,” Melcher says. “Eating right and getting enough rest are two, but we can’t always do those. So I recommend taking a natural, immune-boosting supplement like olive leaf extract. I especially like this one for summer, because it has anti-viral and anti-microbial properties.”
Olive leaf extract has been used for centuries to help people stay healthy, Melcher says. It’s been proven effective in numerous studies, including one reported in The Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine.
